Near let Mello go off and get a drink, glancing around. He still didn’t see anyone, and he imagined look bad on camera for them to just be standing around. Then, he spotted a man in a dark green hat, and when he turned his head, Near recognized the face. He glanced back at Mello, glad that he was next in line, because he was worried the man would walk away.

Mello got his drink and walked back to Near. His eyes glanced around the park and soon focused on a man that looked like the one in the picture. He turned to he younger and said quietly “That looks like him.” Not wanting the suspect to get away, Mello started after him.

Near wanted to mention that he’d seen the man first, but he refrained, not wanting to start an arguement over that. He walked along with Mello after the man, watching him closely.

“L wanted us to take notes on the man…” Mello said, pulling a small notebook and pencil out of his pocket. He watched their suspect go over to a food stand and order something. Mello wrote this down, although it didn’t seem like very interesting information.

12:13 Suspect ordered Nachos.

Mello squinted to get a closer look at his food.

Nachos came with cheese and salsa.

After he’d finished writing he watched the man go over to a bench and sit down to eat. Mello sipped some of his drink, realizing he sort of needed to use the bathroom, since the last time he went was this morning. He was still quite thirsty though, and drank some more of his beverage.

Near stayed quiet and let Mello write, figuring it would be somewhat pointless if they were writing down the exact same thing. He walked over so he and Mello could sit at a bench nearby, so they wouldn’t seem to be just standing and staring at him, which is exactly what they were supposed to do.

“We should probably go on some rides or do some activities or something, and then catch up with our suspect later.” Mello said. “We don’t want to seem too suspicious.” /And possibly find a bathroom/ The blond thought to himself, shifting a bit. Mello felt sort of weird sitting on the bench with Near, and just being at the amusement park with him in general. It was like they were on a date or something.

Near honestly didn’t want to go on any of the rides. He wasn’t scared or anything, knowing that they were all safe, but he didn’t particularly like the thought of being strapped into a seat and spun or jerked around. He wasn’t going to tell Mello that, though, knowing he’d tease him for being afraid until Near gave in and agreed to go. “We shouldn’t go too far.”
